Hmmm...it's been a little while since I've posted on here...I started writing several times, but then never actually finished any of the posts I started. Well, here we are, it's already into June and I'm finally finishing a post and actually posting it. : -)
Oh, where should I start...there is so much that is happening in my life right now. God decided to bring several big changes into my life all at the same time...it's slightly overwhelming, but He is so good and His plans are bigger than my plans. I just have to remember that and completely trust Him with my life.
I think I'll start with the biggest "official" change that has happened...hmmm, I wonder what that could be? ; -) Probably you'll never guess. I'm pretty excited about it actually. Well, you could say that on May 17th I got a phone call from a certain person, asking me a certain question...and then you could also say that I was so very happy and I answered that question with an affirmative answer. I was pretty surprised about the timing (this was not supposed to happen for another 2 months), but I was so excited that the long time of waiting was finally over. It was slightly overwhelming and hard to believe (still is sometimes too), but so wonderful all at the same time. So, in case you want to know what I just said in plain English, here it is...Brett Wright asked me to court him, I said "yes", and I'm so very excited about it! : -) It has been a very long process for both of us and we are both so glad that the waiting period has ended and that we are really courting now. God has been so good and so gracious to us, and we are so very thankful!
Okay, so if that isn't a big enough change...I also gave my official resignation at Lighthouse Bible Church as the church secretary. 'Tis a little bit sad to not be working there anymore, but I think my time there was done, it is time to move on to other things. I learned many things working there this last year and hopefully I can take away some important life lessons and not forget them. May God get the glory for the things I was able to accomplish, I could never have done it in my own strength.
Getting used to Daddy's new job has also been quite an adjustment for our whole family. We've just had to get used to his new schedule of being gone all the time and only seeing him occasionally. It's also been hard to see him struggling with this new job and it not being the most ideal situation. But God has a plan somewhere in all of this, we just have to continue to trust Him and His provision for our family. He has so faithfully provided in the past, He will continue to do so in the future. The other change that goes along with Daddy's job is the increasing potential of us moving away from here to somewhere cheaper. This is saddening because of family, friends, and everything that we have here, but bottom line is that if God wants us to be somewhere else, then we have to be open to that and whatever He has for us. God has definitely been teaching our family about trusting Him right now.
The next big change on the horizon is that Shaina and I are going on a missions trip with Kids Alive International to the Dominican Republic. We leave this Sunday evening, June 13th and will be gone for almost 7 weeks. I'm so excited about this opportunity to serve in another country and to help with the ministry to children in the DR. Please pray that Shaina and I will be completely open to what God is going to do through us this summer and that we would trust Him with whatever happens.
My life is changing, a lot. Sometimes it's pretty hard for me, and sometimes it's not hard at all. I just have to continually trust God and what He is doing in my life. Hmmm, I'm seeing a pattern here...maybe God is teaching me about trusting Him right now. I just pray that I can learn these lessons and continually draw closer to my Savior. My heart's desire is to know Him better and have a closer relationship with Him. That has to be my focus, and by God's grace I'll keep working at it.
I suppose that's it for now. My final thought is that God has been so faithful and so gracious to me. I deserve nothing, but He has blessed me with so much.
May God be praised for the things He has done in my life!
